Moving database to another drive

I have installed Plex on my Windows drive and have all of the movies on an exterior hard drive. It’s working great with my Apple TV and iOS devices. Now, I would like to, if possible, move the Plex database from the C drive to my exterior drive. I read where to find the files and see everything on “back up” but nothing about moving it. My purpose is that I’d like to have everything, the movies and database, all on one hard drive. I would like to just copy that whole directory folder to the other drive but will everything still work and if not, what do I need to do for it to work properly? Thanks.

Moving the plex database to an external drive is always more risk.
Only do it if there is absolutely no alternative (e.g. when your laptop cannot house a bigger or a second drive [Do you have an optical drive bay in it? There are mounting frames to put a second hard disk into it instead.])

Also, keep in mind that the data connection will have to carry double the load than it has now.
Even if you move the plex data folder, consider moving the ‘transcoder temporary folder’ back onto your internal disk.

And of course: your external disk needs to be formatted with the NTFS file system.
If it is currently using FAT32 or exFAT, forget about it.

Here is the full procedure how to move the folder:
