Moving from kodi to Plex

I’m hearing about plex for some time but never didn’t even test it out to know how it works. When I did, it got me.
So, I’m thinking in ditch my actual setup, OSMC with Kodi on a Rpi4, and install Plex.
I’m thinking in using Diet PI as a base system. My library has aproximatelly 500 itens between movies, tvshows and music videos.
Any recommendations?
I’m very new at Plex, not Linux, so, any recommendations will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

@thiago_481

While similar, there are enough differences that you can’t copy any of the metadata / databases.

I recommend starting fresh once you’ve got the naming compliant.
TMM, FileBot, and others will be of great help confirming media is properly named / adjusted if needed.

Be aware, Plex doesn’t support ISO, VOB, or VIDEO_TS structures.

Standard TV is:

Name/
  Season xx/
    Name - SxxExx - optional title.ext

Standard Movies is:

Movie (year)/
   Movie (year).ext
   .
   . subtitles, extras, etc

All the examples are here.

There is a lot of info in the support pages.

Thanks ChuckPa,
Yeah, I’ll start fresh and install a new OS. Just investigating the best possibilities…
I’ll take a look in the links provided.

Thanks a lot for your time replying…

If you’re installing fresh. I think there’s a Ubuntu server flavor available for your machine. That would be the leanest possible and give the most stability and most to PMS resource-wise

Thanks. Will do that…
