Mpv.conf and ICC profile..?

Player Version#: 2.58.0.1076-38e019da build date: 2020-05-19

I’m trying to do some advanced MPV tuning and wanted it to correct my colours.
I created the mpv.conf file and added the command i found on https://mpv.io/manual/stable/#options-icc-profile

--icc-profile="C:\Users\derp\Documents\madVR_0.3127x_0.329y_S_XYZLUT.icm"

However, I didn’t see any difference and started to look in the logs and found this:

2020-07-28 16:11:55 [ DEBUG ] PlayerComponent.cpp @ 598 - cplayer: Reading config file C:/Users/derp/AppData/Local/PlexMediaPlayer/mpv.conf
2020-07-28 16:11:55 [ ERROR ] PlayerComponent.cpp @ 604 - cplayer: Error parsing option icc-profile (option not found)
2020-07-28 16:11:55 [ ERROR ] PlayerComponent.cpp @ 604 - cplayer: C:/Users/derp/AppData/Local/PlexMediaPlayer/mpv.conf:1: setting option icc-profile='C:\Users\derp\Documents\madVR_0.3127x_0.329y_S_XYZLUT.icm' failed.

What worries me is the (option not found) as the documentation for the ICC profile states: Needs LittleCMS 2 support compiled in.

Can anybody answer if this is the problem, the lack of “LittleCMS 2” before I go digging deeper in to this and recalibrate my projector.

From what I understand, it’s a pretty old version of MPV in pmp 2.5x; I’ve done some tweaking in mpv.conf and it had very little effect. I tried some different icc profiles too and couldn’t tell a change.

3.xx has a newer version of mpv, and I can definitely see a difference when altering mpv.conf.

I can’t wholeheartedly recommend 3.xx though because it has some major regressions in playback and usability. Might be worth a shot to see if it helps with what you’re doing though.

Thanks @ruggercb. I will test out verion 3.
I’m hoping to be able to use PMP instead of Kodi and an external player, if the ICC profile thing works and i can add some sharpening…
