Msg: This application is at and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access

I just restarted my plex server and ran in to this crap. Then it made me claim my server which was working perfectly fine before restarting it.

Not all users want to log in to a web app to use it locally, I’m one of them.

i’ve also been experiencing this lately, along with more issues playing back my content than ever before…

I have the same problem

Same issue here. I now cannot log into my own server directly.
I can only play music by using the web service. So if the internet is down, I cannot access my own music through plex.

I cannot log in directly at all any longer… Servers are available via the app.plex.tv. I had a very short internet drop that may have contributed to the problem. However, restarting the server did not help at all - still have to login through Plex url now. To say I’m not happy with this is an understatement. I’ve stopped recommending plex as a good media solution to people I know already, and this will be the last straw for me if there is not a fix to this bug.

Edit - for me I was able to login directly to my local server by:
Accessing the local url through https:
Turning off the ‘Enable Relay’ version.

Not sure if the relay actually helped but I don’t like the sound of that setting anyway.

@ duncanbeeversAdmin
Thank you for the reply, but I cannot access the server through http://192.168.1.100:32400, although I can login through http://192.168.1.100:5000. Neither http://find.synology.com Can find the server, nor Synology assistance is able to see it. please advise.

After restarting the server, I can access it via Synology assistant but not through http://find.synology.com. When using http://192.168.1.100:32400, it says “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.” attached is the screenshot.

Make that http://192.168.1.100:32400/web

Me too.

Hi,
I have this same problem using a QNAP 251 TS+
This application is at 192.168.1.130 and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access.
I can only access my Plex Server using the generic desktop link.

do you know the server at that IP Address (192.168.1.130)

seems like a simple question…

Yes,
It’s mine and the complete IP Address is 192.168.1.130:32400

It’s always been that IP address. This problem started a couple of months ago. My clock times are right, I updated to the latest Plex app. I bookmarked the generic Plex TV desktop URL, so when I get the error I click the bookmarked web address and I’m in. Makes no sense.

it’s asking you to confirm it…

I did, and it still returns the error.

I am having the same problem and I cannot plex cannot get to my server (wdmycloudultra).
This application is at 10.0.0.52 and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access.

@ OttoKerner, thanks, When using http://192.168.1.100:32400/web I can now access the server, but still cannot claim it or secure it. For 45 days now, plex is useless to me and can only use my Synology 918+ as a media server on my TV.
From the replies, it looks that a lot of fellows are suffering from the same symptoms and it is unlikely that the problem is from our part. Kindly advise.
Regards
