Much faster (hopefully), smaller (mostly) and better PMS builds preview (1.15.0.573-123756e9a)

Thank you for the English translation. Obviously their Italian translator is not working well

I will ask you to:

  1. Uninstall the PMS package
  2. Open FileStation
  3. Rename Library to Library.save
  4. Restart the NAS
  5. Install PMS
  6. Open http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web and begin a fresh, temporary, server.
  7. Give this temporary server a “Temporary” friendly name so it can be identified.
  8. Continue with normal setup of a new server.

Thanks for your reply. How to rename Library to Library.save?

  1. Open Control Panel - Shared Folders
  2. Edit the "Plex* share - Permissions tab
  3. Give your Synology username (or admin) permission to see the Plex share
  4. Open FileStation,
  5. Open Plex share
  6. Right-Click “Library” -> Rename

Which one of this I have to edit in the control panel?

Ok, i have set to Plex and to my account Read/Write, but I can’t see Plex folder in Filestation. I need to reinstall PMS first?

Close and Re-Open File Station.
The Plex share will appear on the left side.

If it does not appear, make certain you saved the permissions changes

I try to give me permission both trough the folder permission, and also trough group permission, but the folder doesn’t appear. I try to delete the Plex folder?

Ok. I delete the Plex folder, and then reinstall the PMS. The installation went good, and it starts. It seems all good.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and my first attempt to shift from Kodi to Plex and PMS.

I use a DS218Play (arm8) and I installed PMS 1.13.6.283 from this thread.

Is this one the last beta version of PMS for arm8? Is this thread the right place to check or there is onother one?

Anyway, for now I have no problem with PMS and with Plex client on my TV Samsung (UE43NU7190).

Thanks!

Did the previous build work for you @Shmii?

@tamas : No ! (Check my earlyear post  in date of 02/10 )
The last working version is : PlexMediaServer-1.13.6.176-dd1845234-aarch64.qpkg
Downloaded here : QNAP [aarch64 / ARMv8]

I’m at your service for testing

If it can help @ChuckPa reproduce this issue in his device with last time.

We’ll try a different way to patch the ELF binaries and create new builds soon. I’ll coordinate with Chuck.

@tamas : Can’I find sources of this library somewhere on the net. (Witch version of curl-lib the build is it ?)
I can try to compile it in my side.

It’s very likely that you will run into the same issue with other libraries even if you manage to compile a curl that works, so I don’t suggest sinking time into this. That said, if you still want to try it, our curl version is: 7.56.1.

Ok i’ll try … and it’s faild…
I don’t have development tools on QTS distribution…
no gcc, and no make tools

I’m stuck it’s all on you

Do you now if i can make cross compilation ?

We are cross-compiling for QNAP, but it’s a really involved setup. We’ve been working on it for two years. You won’t have to wait that long for a new build this time, hopefully
