Much faster (hopefully), smaller (mostly) and better PMS builds preview (1.15.0.573-123756e9a)

PMS is not packaged for any platform until it has been evaluated and approved.
Sure the code might run but there are several other metrics which must be satisfied.

A prime example of this was the discontinuance of the ARMv5 platforms. They did not have the required CPU performance to run PMS in its new (at the time) configuration

Sorry, it was a suggestion for @vasyl.olenchenko.

@ChuckPa does the new PMS beta build that was just published have the changes in this feed’s build baked in now, or is it still separate?

Trying to determine if I should update to that beta build or not. =) Thanks!

@marcjt It’s still a separate build.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply!!

Can you tell it’s Monday and folks are rested? :smiley:

There will be an announcement when the builds here become the mainstream PMS beta.

I got advertised Plex-Media-Server-1.14.0.5465-425e4ac90 this morning - is this the current Beta release or still the ā€œforum branch?ā€

1.14.0 is the mainline PMS release

All the releases from here are MANUAL installation. There is no Automatic Push Notification.

I just wanna say good job on this build. It works so well compared to the normal ones. AWESOME JOB!!! Faith in PMS restored.

Its running so so smooth on my 2697v2 on centos 7

Hi,
I just purchased lifetime Plex Pass in hopes of getting the DVR working with my DS118 and HDHR Extend. It is working reasonably well so far, so thank you for all the effort. The main issue I’m seeing is when I view a live channel on my Roku that is already recording, both instant replay and general time-shifting doesn’t work well. For instance, the instant replay will sometimes jump back 60 or more seconds, and when I attempt to fast-forward 5 minutes, it will only actually fast-forward 3 or so minutes.

  • DS118, DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 1, 1.14.0.391-7623e9224, PlexMediaServer-1.14.0.391-7623e9224-aarch64.spk, play live recorded show on Roku Premiere.

One interesting thing to note is that on the Roku when I pull up the stream info, it shows there is transcoding taking place. But viewing the resources on the DS118, the CPU is quite low and playback loads pretty quick, so I don’t think there is actually any transcoding taking place. Also, this problem might also be occurring when viewing a live channel that wasn’t previously being recorded. I haven’t confirmed this yet. I’ve attached the log file - I last tested this from 20:00 - 22:00 MST 11/13/2018.

Are there any builds for QNAP TS-332X?

I was able to use 1.13.6.176 and get it working, but no such luck with the latest ARMv8 (TS-x28 Series) build linked by OP https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.14.0.391-7623e9224/qnap/PlexMediaServer-1.14.0.391-7623e9224-aarch64.qpkg

@joe_b

can you get me any of the system logs / screen shot of the error?
It should be installing. I suspect the file isn’t complete (Some browsers have an issue with this)

@ChuckPa it may be after the Thanksgiving holiday, but I will get you a log. Thanks for the super quick response.

EDIT: Just tried again and 1.14.0.391 Nov 6th build for QNAP ARMv8 appears to install correctly. However, I cannot connect a Plex client to the Plex media server. In the meantime, I’ve been using 1.13.6.176 from the July 27 alpha post (https://artifacts.plex.tv/plex-media-server-alpha/1.13.6.176-dd1845234/qnap/PlexMediaServer-1.13.6.176-dd1845234-aarch64.qpkg) just fine.

@ChuckPa @joe_b
He have the same ARM proc as my QNAP, I think it’s the same problem :wink:
All QNAP TS-X32 (With Alpine ARM) have the same issue.
