So i’m having an issue where some of my albums are not merged and some are.
I have had a play with mp3tag and everything looks ok and as it should.
I do not really want to merge the albums in Plex as it doesn’t list the discs properly e.g. disc 1 and 2 will have track numbers as 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 etc
I have selected prefer local metadata and still no joy.
please can someone help, i am usually quite good with all this tech stuff but this is throwing me.

If the tags are correct and the album is cataloged properly by Plex, a multi-disc album should look like this:

I have over half of my collection like the above picture you posted and the others are disc 1 and disc 2. Im going though the guide now. hopefully its sorts it
