Multi episode files (example s01e01e02) show correctly in view, bit when playing episode 1, episode 2 will play since it is the same file, but once over and the play next episode starts, it will repeat episode 1 then play episode 2 then move onto episode 3. This had been fixed as a requested feature had been implemented, but appears to have broken in one of the last few updates. Works fine on fine episode files. I’m on the latest public release on windows 7. I have quit Plex, rebooted computer. Happens on web player, Roku and Nvidia shield. Anyone else run across this issue?
Any help at all? Single episode files are no issue, but multi episode files just keep repeating and won’t go on to the next episode even they they are named correctly.
S01e01e02 will just keep repeating, but s01e03 will play through and go on to next episode. And then s01e04e05 will get stuck again as an example. Repeat is not on and autoplay is on. I think this started when skip intro was introduced or possibly just before.
Unfortunately - that’s how Plex works.
Plex veterans simply don’t include the second episode in the naming scheme - and hand edit the first one to indicate there’s two…:
The problem is, it did work for awhile. Plex had implemented a request that it would play the double(or triple etc…) Episodes count all of them as played and then move on. Something broke and now the multiple episode files continuously repeat. It won’t play s01e01e02 as episode 1 and then play it again as episode 2 then move on to episode 3, it just keeps repeating s01e01e02 all day long and will never move on.
I just saw the other thread where it said this was fixed, so I went to try it and seeing the same thing. Guess I missed when it was working.
I noticed last night that this feature work when watching shows on plex.tv, but not when watching on the Roku app.
I still haven’t been able to figure out what broke this. Tried in chrome on a mac, windows and android. Plex app on roku, android tv and android phone. Everything is fully up to date too.
I went back to a revison around the time they implemented the change, and could not get it to work. I have tried both the Nvidia Shield, and Roku’s. the only place I see this work is from plex.tv.
The newest update still hasn’t fixed it either.
Any update from someone at Plex by chance as to when(or if) this will be fixed?
