I have an issue where if a program has multiple episodes aired one after the other with the same name they fail.
My example is Motorsport F1 Grand Prix. The airing of this program is broken down into multiple episodes all aired one after the other, for example:
Program1 = F1 Build Up
Program2 = Grid Walk
Program3 = The Race
Each of these programs in the guide are named the same “Motorsport F1 Grand Prix” it’s only the description once you click on it that is different.
The issue I have is once Plex records the first episode in the list, in the above example ‘F1 Build Up’ it then doesn’t record the ‘Grid Walk’ or ‘The Race’ as to Plex its done its job and recorded “Motorsport F1 Grand Prix” and I presume it things the others are just repeats so they just disappear from the recording schedule list.
I have attached some example pictures to show what i mean, you can see on one example where multiple recordings exist with the same name then you can see that after the first one recorded the others disappear and Motorsport F1 is on its own with a play button.

The screenshots were of the 28 the September or 29th?
The 3 scheduled recordings at 1:45, 5:45 and 7:50 were for which day?
The only reference to such times in the log are for 11th October for these events

and what happens when you open up the one with the “Play” button ? Does it show just one recording or multiple versions of the recording ? and what file name paths does “Get Info” show on Plex Web for this ?
The other screenshot which shows recorded event for 10:30-11:30 am for Today - was that for 29th Sep?
You provided one log file for 11:12 am to 11:32 - there are by default 6 log files and together they would give me a longer timeframe - it is always best to provide the logs zip and I can then choose which logs to look at - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
So for the 29th - was there multiple events to be recorded and you ended up with only one? And does the media info in Plex Web for the library item show just one ?

The first screenshot is from a future recording that will happen on the 11/10/19 as i didn’t get a screenshot of the multiple events on the 29th due to them disappearing after recording the first episode so i used a future recording as an example to show you how it lists multiple times prior to the first recording removing them. Sorry for the confusion.
Once the first one finishes recording any subsequent ones after if disappear and if i click on the play button it just shows the one episode and none of the ones that were after it.
Get info shows:
Yes the one that shows 10:30 - 11:30 is the first episode recorded (the build up) and then directly after that should be the ‘grid walk’ for 30mins then after that at 12:00 is the ‘live race’ all of which were on the 29th.
Yes there were multiple events to be recorded and yes i only ended up with one, im pretty sure this is because they all have the same name in the guide and its only the description and airtime thats different.

I am aware of the issue of multiple games on the same day but from what I have seen they end up as multiple versions of the same item. I am going to do some dummy recordings moving my laptop date to the 11th October.
Are all recording options default? Is it to record all events ? New Only?
The lineup is what is specified during DVR Setup, When you go to server settings and then select live tv and DVR you will see at the top the name of the lineup that was used during setup
It thinks the other 2 events for the 29th are already in the library

So there may be recordings for previous event having same title in the database.
We can experiment with what I have been getting users to do for NFL Recordings.
Create a TV library for Sport and edit and select Advanced - then scroll down and when you get to the Agent, change the agent from “theTVDB” to “Personal Media Shows”. Modify the scheduled recordings for Sport to switch to this library. (Meanwhile I will continue with trying to reproduce the issue - but I may need to have two sets of events to get the issue - 11th october on its own not enough)
But before you make any changes, I would like to have a look at the Plex Media Server database - could you do the following:
On the troubleshooting page where you download the logs, select Download Database and send me the zipped database by Private Message - if too big, please upload to dropbox/google drive etc and send me a link

We are looking into how sports events are handled and changes will be made. This is with our development team
Meanwhile, use of a Sports TV Shows Library with the agent changed to the Personal Media Shows agent should make an improvement but it is not a full solution to the issues with Sports events and multiple events on the same day
Ok, i have created a new library for sports using the personal media agent as suggested and ill let you know if this works on the 11th but please keep me posted about a fix?

Update:
Plex Media Server 1.18.2.2029 has just been released as beta
It has the changes for sports and news which led to incorrect matching of recordings. The changes also fix the issue when recording multiple sports games on the same day
- (DVR) Preserve EPG metadata when assimilating Sports and News recordings. (#10544)
Sports and News recordings will no longer get matched with tvdb and will preserve the EPG data
