Multiple nvidia gpus for transcoding

Before I purchase another gpu to raise my limit of possible transcodes could someone in the know answer me this?

If I add a second nvidia card will plex utilize it to raise my hw transcode to four from the limit of two on a single card?

I am aware of the patch to remove said limit and would rather not mess with it.
Can someone please answer?
Thank you

I don’t think it will, I can’t recall anyone who has confirmed it working.

Not sure why you would rather spend extra hundreds of dollars more for multiple gpus, even if they worked, when the patch is free and simple.

In any case, if you are intent on buying a new gpu, at least do yourself the favor of getting a quadro based card which doesn’t have the encoder limits.

patch if you change your mind and decide you want to try it.

I had already purchased a nvidia 1650 for my server and was unaware of the 2 stream limit, I can purchase another 1650 or two more as the quadro is expensive.
I will try the patch and maybe purchase another consumer nvidia card and test if no one can answer.
I thought maybe a dev could shine some light on multiple gpus and plex transcoding.
Thank you for the response will update

I have a 1650 too!

the patch works great for me on linux.

never tried the patch on windows.

hopefully someone who has already tried (multiple gpus) can confirm one way or the other, it would be nice to know for sure.
