Multiple versions of a movie, one not available

Scenario:
Yesterday i had Radarr downloading a 720 file and putting it in the movie library.
Today Radar found a 1080 version, downloaded it, and deleted the 720.

Plex, until maintenance or manual delete, keeps both versions in it’s db.

Why, if the 720 is no more available, plex has to say that the movie is unavailable, hiding the play button? Why it does’t let users watch the available alternative? Yes, i know that there is a menu to choose which version to play, but it states only the res, and users does not know which one is ok, and anyway it’s complex for pc users, too much complex for smart tv users.

There’s another step which needs to be performed after the scan, emptying the library’s trash.

You can configure this to be performed automatically after every scan in the server’s “Library” settings, but that’s generally a bad idea as it can result in some data loss if media is temporarily unavailable during a scan for some reason (as can happen with network storage at times).

Let me explain better.
I know the “Empty Trash” but that is by hand on demand
But the point is not erasing the old file from Plex DB. that can be done in maintenance hours.
The point is that if Plex has at least one version available, it must not say that the movie is unavailable.
