Hi, im aware that this is currently not an option (as mentioned in the FAQ) but I would find it very useful to be able to add music tracks to a collection (not by album or artist) for pulling together my various Collaboration albums (e.g. film Soundtracks from multiple artists).
My question is why has this been explicitly ignored, is there some reason that this cannot be achieved?

Oddly enough, the Plex Web interface does provide a collection by track filter, but, as you pointed out, there is no manual means to add tracks to a collection. A deep dive into the Plex Library database revealed that collection tags can, in fact, be added to track metadata, and, using a custom python script, I was able to populate the database accordingly without causing the Plex server any apparent chaos.
