I’ve been trying to set things up so that I can share my media library with my brother, letting him use RaspPlex to access his PMS server to which I have shared my content. But when accessing my library through the ‘Shared Content’ menu of RasPlex this only works for Movies, TV Shows and Photos, but never for Music.
Choosing any MP3 or FLAC track only results in repeated “Wait” messages, followed (after a timeout) by a message stating that one or more items failed to playback.
Logging on to my own PMS server and accessing the same tracks through the main Music menu (so not as ‘Shared Content’) they all play perfectly, though still in the same RasPlex client.
This is yet another RasPlex issue that may in fact be due to original PlexHT coding.
I have no way of testing that myself, since PlexHT on other platforms is PlexPass limited, and while I am a PlexPass member myself my brother isn’t. So accessing my shared content through his PMS server is not permitted using PlexHT for PC. And that’s why I’ve no means of testing if the same problem also afflicts that implementation.

Hopefully you can determine whether or not this problem is due to PlexHT or RasPlex coding, and pass the information on to the proper Plex staff in the former case. (Or at least tell me if it’s an original PlexHT bug so I can report it in the proper subforum myself.)

Sorry to nag about this again. I realize it may be hard to find a definite answer as to why this happened.
Still, there are a few things I need to know about this issue, which should be easy for any project ‘insider’ to give me.
1: First and foremost, I need to know if my case is unique.
Is it only for me that music shared from another PMS server refuses to play ?
2: Is this failure to play shared music unique to RasPlex, or does it happen in PHT on a PC as well ?
3: Is this failure to play shared music a bug, or is it planned behaviour at the current stage of PHT development ?
