Currently if you browse a music library by folder you must click all the way down to individual tracks before you can select them and then add to playlist or just play them. Can we also have this on the folder level?
I would love to see this feature too and I’m surprise that is not even here yet!!
I maintain my music in folders which roughly match categories I’d like to make into playlists. However since there’s no way to create a playlist from a folder without drilling down into each subfolder, it’s infeasible. This would be a great addition.
Note: This feature request shouldn’t be confused with the other (popular) request to add folder hierarchy to the playlist view.
That would really enhance music portion of plex. When you have various folders with sub folders with music in them it would be so convenient to just add those to the playlist instead of trying to find all the music by other means and adding it.
In a music library, the Play All button exists;
however, once viewing in Folder view, the option disappears.
And this continues all the way down.
Is there any recourse to get a Play Contents button
where the Play All button usually resides,
which will simply play all contents,
(recursively including the contents of contents [child folders] also)?

I was just going to raise the same issue. Plex has severe issues scanning my vast Classical Music collection. I ultimately had to give it up since it identified barely anything but seemed to get the server stuck or crashing.
Now I simply want to select a folder (normally representing a CD/album) and play it. Very surprised this isn’t an option.

- Since we can’t (yet??) filter using a more detailed folder hierarchy, in order to create playlists i’d like to select all files from a folder and add them manually to a playlist. Unfortunately there is no such thing… You cannot select 1 or more folder, only individual tracks
Can we use the same selector options for folders as for individual tracks please ?
Okay, 8y to adapt one already existing object behavior to another is… crazy long.
Not sure how this has been coded but it must mean it’s a maze like structur…
More likely it’s just not a particularly popular request.
