HI, how do I create a music playlist form a folder, please tell me I dont have to add each track individually or i’ll lose my ■■■■
there are no controls /options at all for adding a folder to a playlist, nothing if you hover over the folder in folder view and nothing in the 3 dots.
You can’t just select the folder, you have to select everything in the folder. The How-To shows how to do that.
I cant see anything there at all for adding all songs in a folder to a playlist, if its there I cant see it, can you copy and paste the instructions to this post, these instructions are referring to library entires only as far as I can see and folders dont appear in the library, only artist and albums.?
further to this, if you select one item, a deselect all items option comes up top right, this is where select all items should be, its missing or was never there…
Oh, you actually mean “folder,” as in the Folder view (so many people say ‘folder’ when they mean ‘library,’ so my mistake).
When in Folder view, when you hover over a track, the ‘select’ tool appears to the left:

There has never been a ‘Select All’ button. As the How-To explains, once you select one item, you are in ‘Select’ mode. You can then select additional items one by one, or hold the Shift key and select another item, and everything between them will be selected (this is just like the Windows File Manager).
So to select every track in a folder, click the Select tool on the first track, then Shift-click the last track. Every track between them will be selected, and you can add them to a playlist.
This method isn’t ideal in a folder with a large number of tracks, unfortunately. There is a feature request to add a ‘Select All’ button. You may want to add your vote.
ok ta but having a deselect all seems a little pointless without a select all, select all seems like basic functionality, no brainer.
