I’ve repeadly tried to set up the music meta tags so Plex would load the songs properly. I always get Various Artest for all songs. Why can’t Plex just use the meta data that’s there instead of having to modify it, just to fail. The meta data I have is used with other programs just fine.

Have you configured Plex to prefer local metadata?
Are you sure that your tags are correct?
I have configured Plex to prefer local metafile. I’ve rearranged the metadata to look like the example and I’ve tried a few other things, all with the same result, “various artists”.
“In your ID3 tags, it’s important that the Album Artist (even if it’s blank) and Album title are identical in each file. If Album Artist is blank, the album will still be listed under the Artist’s name if the Artist tags are identical for all tracks. If they are not identical, the album will be listed under “Various Artists.””

This should happen, but due to a current bug in the scanner it can result in V/A compilations getting listed under another artist, not V/A.
I have tried this with no success. It seems like no matter what I enter, the tracks all fall under various artist.
Tried again, same result. Why can’t Plex just use the tags as they are like other programs?
Someone do me a faver. Please forward me several music files that work for you so I can see the tags. karl1992@verizon.net
