I use Plex every day. The one collection of media that I have that not seen one single multimedia server product handle is music videos. I created one based on "Home Videos" but that doesn't suffice.
There needs to be a music videos section with its own scraper. I personally use [Artist] - [Song Title] naming convention. It needs to behave as music section. I want to add videos to the current playlist. If I return to the list, it needs to keep playing just like audio files.
Yeah i’ve been wondering why there wasn’t a Music Video’s section but i actually keep mind in /Music Videos/Artist/Artist-Song.ext or Song.ext by itself
+bump, here, here! Is there a legal reason this hasn't already been done? It seems (emphasize seems) an easy workaround would be to allow "last.fm" as an agent under "Home Movies". Any thoughts?
The only music video scrapper i knew of stops working years ago. To create an agent you need a database to pull the data from and i can think of only one http://imvdb.com/. I am not sure how good and updated it is. Perhaps someone should create an agent for it. Or vevo.com perhaps -_-
Yes. We need this feature! It would be very nice, also, if someone on the dev team would at least respond to this topic. I (and I'm sure all of us) would like to know what is going on here.
I am sure there are thousands, of people out there that watch music videos as much as they do movies and will watch them over and over again, particularly if they could easily find them in their own "music Video" section on Plex. Loading them as a home video just doesn't cut it. They need to be treated just the same as music, but in a video format.
How about the Dev. team at Plex make this a priority for 2015
