Handling the videos like music
It would be nice to see a music video section. The idea is that I would be able to navigate to the videos and then select he shuffle option to have them played in any order. Also the ability to play the tracks without first having to add them to a playlist. Additional functionality would be to see if there are any 'genre' tags or other meta-data in the files, to allow grouping in a similar way to music tracks.

Hey I just made a discovery you're going to like. Go into the media manager and create a new music section and point it to your music videos. It will scan and not find anything as its looking for music files. Now edit the section and change it to movies and personal media. Update the section and it will now find the files. In PLEX when you select this section the menu will come up as if it was a music section. If you hold menu on the artists it will bring up the shuffle option and will randomly play the videos. I know this is not perfect but it works till we have a real music video choice, and hopefully new versions won't break this until we do (hint, hint devs.)
+1 to this feature as well. While the Music/Movie hack above does work, it would be nice to retain the music metadata structures like artist, etc. I have both music videos and music films (concert films such as The Cure’s In Orange, etc.) so it would be nice to have a delineation between these as well. Technically these are movies, but I would like to keep my music related stuff together.

im interested in this feature myself, but i dont want to waste disk space on music videos…
so it would be much better to have a site that can stream the videos of internet to plex
well if this is due able, might be a big project, we dont need a own section for music videos, just music files inked to that site.
imagen having a party, someone queues a track and that track has a music video, so when that track is up for play the music video will automatically stream from the site and to the “now playing” screen in plex
This would be cool, but you should open up another feature request for this. Maybe if the YouTube plugin supported playlists?

I was able to finally Shuffle play all my Music Videos.
I hope the dev’s build in better support for Music Videos in future builds.
I tried this with the latest PMS and the media manager just keeps putting the section type back to ‘Music’.
What’s the best method of adding music videos to plex?
I have the same problem than skywise, anyone can help us please?

The more I think about it the more I want it 
I too would love this - at present I have to have the Music Videos section on the same view as my Movies… as they don’t contain any information (like plot, artwork etc), I’d love it if you could have different settings for music videos (or other sections), e.g. set them to list view without changing the movies.
I just tried this and it works great on my internal drive on my macbook pro. So thank you very much. The only thing is that it does not scan my mounted drive off my router. Does anyone know how I can fix this.

Love the Idea, but I would be happy with an plain and easy shuffle and play all function for one Section. I have my Videos ordered by genre, like House Music and would just like the posibillity to play all in random order or just in order rather than having to select each video to play…
