Can those of you that use MusicBrainz Picard post your naming “code” here so I can see a few examples of what works for you and also works for Plex? Trying to clean up a lot of various folders scattered across my systems and get everything filed properly where Plex can get to it. I have a lot of traditional albums that I’ve ripped myself, but also have a decent selection of gaming and movie soundtracks that I’ve either ripped or purchased online.
Most are MP3, some are FLAC, but the extension doesn’t seem to really matter to Plex, but figured I’d mention it anyhow.
Thanks again. I’ve seen multiple other threads on similar, but none recent with actual “code” listed in it.
Note: You can not use disc numbers with this script. This naming script is intentionally designed to put multi-disc albums like “Album (disc 1)” and “Album (disc 2)”, because I prefer it that way (for compatibility mostly). I use a plugin and a custom tagger script to use the disc number for the naming and then delete it from the tags automatically. So, if this script is put in Picard without doing that, the naming will be messed up, and not as designed.
If you have questions about this script, feel free to ask. Btw yes this works well with Plex (Plex uses discnumbers, but works fine without them too)
