I'm having the same problem (why, Chuck, why?!). I tried your suggested fix of deleting the episode title from the filename and refreshing, and it worked perfectly.
However, when I renamed the file back to its original format, Plex lost it again after the automatic library update.
Are there any other possible workarounds for the SAMPLEr issue?
that is so funny, I was just coming to report a problem with the same filename. I also eventually figured out that it was the use of the word "sampler" that was causing the scanner to skip it.
Of my 88 TV shows, only 28 are recognized and scanned… I’ve tried everything to make sure the problem was not special characters or anything like that, but no matter what I’ve tried, it hasn’t scanned a single show but these:
30 Rock
Burn Notice
Community
Entourage
FlashForward
Futurama
Heroes
How I Met Your Mother
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Klovn
Las Vegas
Lost
Modern Family
My Name Is Earl
Prison Break
Rescue Me
Scrubs
Seinfeld
South Park
Stargate Universe
The 4400
The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones
The Mentalist
The Office (UK) (except it picks it up as “The Office (US)”)
The Sopranos
The Unusuals
Two And A Half Men
I’ve attached the 3 logs I could find (after a full removal/re-install of Plex and another scan - so they should be rather clean), but since the system wouldn’t let me upload .log-files, I added .txt to the file names…
My file structure might not be perfect, but it has worked before, and the 28 shows that do work, all are under the same structure as the ones that don’t…
MacMini.local (server) -> TV (harddrive attached through USB) -> TV (folder) -> 30 Rock -> Season 3 -> 0310 - Generalissimo.avi
Let me know if you want me to test anything out, and thanks for working hard on making my TV worth every penny I spent on it!

[Add: Oh, and by the way, there’s been no problems with movies]
[Add: Oh yeah, and it shouldn’t be a problem with my OSX account, as I’ve tried on both my Mini and my MacBook with the exact same results]
I am having difficulties with the TV-show “White Collar”. I have season one, and this is located in a folder called “/Volumes/Film/TV Serier/White Collar/Season 1/White Collar - s01eXX - YY”.
XX is the 2-digit episode #, and YY is the episode name.
I have pointed out the folder “TV serier” as the folder for TV shows.
Earlier in the week the series was recognized, but since the last update it just refuses to do so. I have tried to do the “fix incorrect match” without result. Even doing a search for “White Collar” returns only one result “White Collar Blue (2002)”.
Seems you were right.. Hmm.. Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight.. Let's see 88 shows.. Approximately 4 seasons per show.. Maybe 15 episodes per season.. 5,280 shows need renaming (Thank God for Name Munger!) - I'm so glad I decided to create my own naming convention, back when I began building the library!!
Well.. Thanks, nerpissad..! It's not your fault I'm an idiot..
NOTE: This did *not* solve my problem with 60 shows not being scanned..
for the life of me i cant get the uk version of the office to appear, they used to work perfectly before, ive tried removing them from the system, scanning then re scanning holding shift. ive made the amercian office The Office The Amercian Workplace and ive added (uk) and .uk in all the file names, so it now looks like:
I feel like such an idiot…! Taking nerpissad’s advice made it recognize 87 of the 88 shows, and I’m sure the last one will work as soon as I go through it on TheTVDB… Sorry if I’ve wasted anyone’s time!
I have around 300 movies in my collection and most have been properly scanned. I added three more movies today ( 9, The lovely bones and Green Zone ). I posted in an earlier e-mail that these are not being recognized. I posted the logs as well.
Out of curiosity I tried to fix incorrect match on a movie I knew was already scanned ( 12 rounds ). It could also now not find a match for this movie. Logs below: I am wondering if something else is not working now. Any thoughts, since 12 rounds was previously matched and found.
