My Music/TV Shows/Movies Aren't Showing Up

Regarding "The Office",

I had problems scanning "The Office (UK)" after "The Office (US)".

The UK episodes didn't show up, but I figured out that they were added under the US entry (even though there's no way to check individual episodes in the Media Manager yet.. that would have helped).

What I had to do was:

In Finder, move the US version away from the scan folder.

Let it scan so it removes the US version from Media Manager.

Move the UK version to the scan folder.

Scan.

It was picked up as the US version.

Fix match, select UK version.

Move US version back.

It was scanned as the US version.

And they both lived happily ever after...

I don’t have the time to read through this thread right now, but no music was showing up in Plex under “Music” for me and I found the solution to my problem:



By accident I found that inside my music folder I had a symlink pointing to a non-existing location. I removed it and suddenly PMS was spinning like crazy scanning my music.

Elan, still can't get chuck season 3 episode 6 scanned. Its the only file from that entire season which doesn't show up. All files are named identically so it can't be a naming issue.

Got the same issue, only this ep (s03e06) is missing for some reason, all others scanned perfectly and show up in Plex.

Scanner has started skipping movies with numbers in the title, 300, 2012, 101 dalmatians. If I remove 101 from dalmatians it scans and gets added. In the logs, when it has a number in front, it does not even try to scan it.

I have a weird one, this:

Which is a custom section in PMS and uses the Movies/Plex Movie Scanner under the settings as most of my stand up is considered movies. However this does not scan, it won’t even show up with a thumbnail. If however I move to:





/Volumes/Media/TV/Edinburgh Comedy Festival Live/Edinburgh Comedy Festival Live S01E01.mkv

/Volumes/Media/TV/Edinburgh Comedy Festival Live/Edinburgh Comedy Festival Live S01E02.mkv



It will instantly scan and also get artwork. If I edit the section to be TV, it loses everything but the Edinburgh Comedy Festival stuff. When I look in the logs I can only see it listed with the thetvdb scanner.

Shouldn’t the movies not pay attention to a tv series scanner?

Hey Elan.. Just to let you know that if you correctly title it chuck.s03e06.avi then add to library it will work. If you title it like this, it doesn't work. If you title it like this and then try to rename it, it won't work.

I'm gonna guess that "sample" in the title is causing this to not be added.

Of course, if you're in custom scanner-land you can have it do whatever you'd like!

Not sure if you saw my post about G.J. Resolute? I can get it to scan but i cant find a match for it. If I try to manually fix it and search for G.I. Joe, all the other cartoons come up but this one. It worked when .9 was first released.

I have four missing movies in my library. When I started to scan there was only one missing. While it was scanning the number increased.



Tell me how I can find out which file is missing and I will tell you.



I can imagine that it scans some movies wrong, assumes a TV-show and removes it. But this would be fatal.



Btw:

In one scan there was Idiocracy (2006).mkv missing - I removed the section and scanned again and it was back.

I can’t get the movie “Summer in Genova” to show up in Plex. Have tried renaming, removing, rescanning, etc. etc. but no luck.

Whoops, slight typo there on my part. I've changed the title so many times I got them confused. But yes, I tried it as "Summer in Genoa.avi," "Summer in Genoa (2008).avi," "Genova.avi," "Genova (2008).avi," and even the (unintentional) slight bastardization "Summer in Genova (2008).avi." Heck, I even renamed it "The Lion King.avi" just to see if it would show up in the media manager at all, but no dice.

I double checked to make sure it's not showing up under another name, but my movie count according to Plex is 424, and according to Finder it's 425.

We're adding the ability to search by ID too, so that should be a nice stop-gap measure as we improve the agents' search functionality.

It looks like the hashes for those two movies is identical. Can you confirm that they are different? In order to share the same match, they would need the same exact file size and same exact 64KB start and end to the file, which seems unlikely.
