It's likely this is the lag introduced by a) Your local HTTP cache and B) Our TVDB cache. We're heard of 24-48 hour delays, roughly, and we're looking to make some changes to bring down the latency a bit.
Dr. Strangelove still wont grab the poster for me. Not sure what to try.
Without more data, it's hard to help. Please let me know the exact file name, and then post relative portions of the Plex Media Server.log and PMS Plugin Logs/com.plexapp.agents.imdb.log - which is misnamed at this point, of course :)
thanks but an hour later it magically fixed itself after days of not working. I know I had everything updated but I guess it took a little while to figure that out. thanks though.
My favorite bugs are the ones that fix themselves through copious amounts of magic :)
I have a problem getting Plex to scan one of my TV series. It has no problem scanning “Billy Connolly’s World Tour of New Zealand”, but won’t scan “Billy Connolly’s World Tour of Australia”, although both shows can be found at TheTVDB, and have identical naming format of the episodes.
Below is the related part from the scanner log.

I see it scanning them both, is it possibly merging the two shows? Or is it just not getting a poster for the one show?
No, it's not merging them, only the New Zealand one shows up in Plex with all it's episodes but nothing more.
Would you be helped by the complete logfile?
I see the episodes from the Australian one being added, so it's just a question of where they are going.
The most likely culprit is that it's being merged with another show.
One thing you can try is renaming the Australian show, say for example "Billy Connolly's World Tour of Australia (1995)" and this can help to "reset" any merge that may have occurred.
As far as I could see, the episodes was not merged with any other show. I tried moving the folder out, renamning, and moving it back, but it didn't help. Then I did what I read someone else had done, namely moved both Billy Connolly-folders out, did a re-scan, and then moved them in one at a time, with the previously missing one first. It first got scanned as the New Zealand one, but I just had to fix that and choose the correct, Australian one, and then ad the other one. Now they both show up. :)
Shows with apostrophes seems to be bombing my scanner. For the past two days when I woke up PMS is steady spinning in the menubar but it isn’t doing anything. The last log entry from the scanner is sometime after midnight and the server says that it was scanning for changes from fsevents all the way up to 4am. The two shows added last night were
Hell’s.Kitchen.S08E01.Day.1.avi
Hell’s.Kitchen.S08E02.Day.2.avi
They were in the Season 8 folder but from the looks of the logs it didn’t even scan that directory. I have attached my logs.
None of my shows are scanning in properly. For example, I’ve got four seasons of 30 Rock in a single directory, all named with the structure “30 Rock - episode number - episode name” and so on. However, when I view it in Plex, I get only the first season, with one episode, oddly numbered as episode 30.
All of my other shows are showing similar problems. Now, I do not use separate folders for the seasons, I just lump all of the episodes in a single directory, but Plex 8 had no problems like this. Reorganizing my entire collection to use season folders would take way, way too long, and I would rather go back to Plex 8 than do that, so hopefully that is not the only solution here. Anyone know what’s going on?
Hey Mako! I don’t see anything evil in your scan, but I don’t see it scanning any season 8 episodes (as if they weren’t there).
Can you tell me exactly how they are named, with some specific examples?
I can't see how the library would be able to figure out what season they're in unless you're using some sort of absolute ordering.
All of my shows are named like this and are contained within a single directory, named after the show:
TV Shows/30 Rock/
30 Rock - 101 - episode name
30 Rock - 102 - episode name
...snip...
30 Rock - 201 - episode name
30 Rock - 202 - episode name
I ended the task "Plex Media Serve" in Activity Monitor and then renamed the files without apostrophes, kicked of the scan and they showed up no problem. Either the Plex Media Serve program is locking up for another reason and the apostrophes are unrelated or they are causing the lockup.
Please go to Plex Online > More > Check for Updates and you should see a Scanners update. Once you've downloaded the update, your 30 Rock should scan perfectly :)
That did it. It even got V to finally scan. Now that's customer service! Thanks.
Strange things. After I noticed that V(2009) was finally there, I saw that Battlestar Galactica (2003) had vanished. The Media Manager then froze, so I restarted, only to find that BSG was back, and V was gone again! Trying to figure it out now.
You can try:
<br />
$ alias pms="~/Library/Application\ Support/Plex/Plex\ Media\ Server.app/Contents/MacOS/Plex\ Media\ Scanner"<br />
$ pms --list<br />
That will produce like this:
<br />
3: Alice<br />
22: Television<br />
21: Torture<br />
You can then use that to dump a tree:
<br />
$ pms --tree --section 22<br />
That can help show problems where they exist.
