I am working on getting my CD’s loaded into my music library and I recently set up a Plex server. I am running into an issue where Plex combines all the songs in my library into one album (see screenshot). In the screenshot, the album art is for Wish You Were Here, the artist is showing as the Rolling Stones, and the album name is showing up as Are You Experienced. I have all three of these albums and artists in my library, but for some reason they are all bundled together in Plex. Is there a certain way I need to organize my files, or does this have to do with the metadata tags? Any help is much appreciated.
You were right - I think it was the embedded tags to blame. I had been fussing around with some of the tracks in mp3Tag and I think I messed up the metadata. Luckily, I hadn’t yet gotten too far into the collection so I just re-ripped those CD’s.
I’m pretty sure mp3tag has a feature to just remove all tags from files, so you could have done that without re-ripping, but I’m glad you found a solution.
