Naming glitch?

In my library randomly movie names will show as how night at the museum does in the attached photo even though it is named properly via filebot using plex output. im not sure where plex even gets the filename from since its not listed anywhere like this. again its completely random. theres more than a handful like this, yet the majority are right. all files are named properly.

Version 1.19.4.2902

Player Version#: n/a

looks like a downloaded file… mp4 most likely has embedded metadata…

The LMA Hack is needed:

There is embedded metadata in your MP4/M4V file throwing Plex into a tailspin.
the LMA Hack tells Plex to stop looking in your files for embedded titles and to concentrate instead on your good file names.

i will look into LMA, thanks. What i dont understand is why its only happening randomly when every file is run through the same naming software.

It only happens for MP4/M4V files.
and some of those bogus names may actually match - most won’t.

It’s the embedded metadata not the file name.
We’re going to assume, for now, your file names are proper.
(I say with zero confidence)

LMA worked, thanks!

also, unless filebot’s plex output is incorrect, the filenames are as proper as they can be to the best of my knowledge

As long as TV Shows have SxxExx - you’re fine - and I always assume Filebot does the job right.

May the path you travel always be a bit downhill…
