One of the things that has often annoyed me is the lack of user-friendly (or should I say "admin-friendly) tools for activity logs and history. AFAIK I always have to keep a PC up and running to monitor user activity and often a scan has recently taken place and there so all user-activity is “too old” to be shown. If nothing else there should at least be some kind of way to filter the events instead og having to scroll thru the last 50 pages. The last year or so have been spent “bloating” with new features like “Live TV & DVR” with a limited audience and little to no attention is given to optimizing the core of the server-software.
But thats where PlexPy comes in. Plain and “simple”, “just” impelent a native Plex GUI like PlexPy and make the Plex Server more “admin-friendly”. Embedding this should also give me access to observe logs and activities from my mobile or any other device which would make it even better. I understand PlexPy has been around for a couple years now and I have been a Plex user for several years myself and would really appreciate prioritizing this.
Unfortunatly I see I am far from the first person requesting this so I don understand why this request continues to go ignored.
I totally agree. I love PlexPy because of the statistics and data you have access to but it’s yet another program to run/update/access. PlexPy has been started by @drzoidberg33 and @JonnyWong16 took over the developement at some point. Now @drzoidberg33 works for Plex, that might suggest that one day PlexPy will be merged with PMS seamlessly. I really hope so.
I’d love to have a history log that would show all the shows and movies that I’ve watched. Including those that I have removed from my library so I after a time I could look at my old logs and remember some long forgotten movies and series that I didn’t see worthy of preserving at the time but would like to watch them again.
