Need a PC to host Plex Server

I’m trying to get a media PC together to run plex server. Atm its on my desktop pc which means it has to be on to watch anything.

It will be on wired home network, only two clients on it (pc and 4K tv), and only one streaming at a time. Data will be on multiple USB external drives connected via a USB hub. Power will be turned off at night. plan to use remote access from desktop to operate it when not at tv. Have a plex lifetime pass account

thinking about something like this:

I’ve never put together hardware for the sole purpose of running a single service so not sure if this is right or if something else is better.

look into a NAS, either QNAP or Synology.

Nope that won’t work. That runs an Atom processor. There isn’t a Plex Media Server available for Atom processors. You’ll need something with either an Intel or AMD processor if you want to use Windows as the OS.
