I want to setup a low cost Windows 10 server just for Plex Live TV/ DVR. I’m looking at a reconditioned Dell 500GB, i7-3770 , 3.40ghz, 8gr ram. Does anyone have a setup like this working well with Live TV/DVR ? I don’t think I would be needing more than 2 streams at the same time. Will this work ? Any advise ?
I run a Dell i7-6700 which can do backflips. Your passmark score for the CPU isn’t that far below mine. Double check the precise processor number, but it appears it supports QuickSync, which can take loads off the CPU in the right configuration.
AmazingRando24 - Thanks for the reply. I don’t see anything about QuickSync, but it’s a i7-3700** 3rd generation** if that makes any difference.
I was able to find several i7-37XX processors on Intel’s website, but not a 3700 precisely. My guess is that all of them are QuickSync capable.
Long story short, I believe you’ll be happy.

I had DVR running on a third generation i5 3.2ghz with 4GB ram no problems.
