I’m currently running the most recent version of Plex Server on a Windows system. I was gifted an 8TB Seagate 3.5 HDD. If I use a powered enclosure and connect over USB 3.1 and store optimized for TV movies there. Will someone (my son in the military that is located in a remote location be able to stream from it easily if theirs and my bandwidth support it? Or will the USB 3.1 slow it down? I know in networking you are only as fast as the slowest hop, would that be the same here?
The USB connection won’t limit your streaming performance (unless you go back to USB 1 or 2)
