need help appe tv2 5.3 plexconnect not jailbroken

Hi,

need help totally ignorant..

 

i did the first steps of changing the dns on the atv2 with the ip on my laptop where i have pled 9.8 installed

i changed the dns configuration to manual.

 

according to the installation guide i have, i should change the line that says return ’8.8.8.8′ # google public DNS

and replace the 8.8.8.8 with my isp DNS. and they say it is optional..

 

wether i do that step above or i just leave it 8s, i get the same results below.. what am i doing wrong?

 

my atv2 is versio 5.3

it stays there doing nothing for ever, and my apple tv has only 2 icons.. computers and settings.

Set atv dns to your laptop ip.

There are a few reasons this could be happening, first try changing the google dns of 8.8.8.8 to 208.67.222.222 (opendns), I have seen a few people with issues with the geolocation of google dns giving them a stuck atv. Second, are you sure you set your ATV2 dns to use 192.168.1.37?  Third, if you are running any firewall at all on the desktop running plexconnect, try it with them disabled, if it works then you know your firewall is causing the issue.

1 i am sure i set my atv dns as my ip and have it cinfigured manually 2nd i am not using a fire wall.. i will try the opendns and let you know

Guys... why don't you look into the wiki. There is always the latest and greatest information available. Your guide seems to be pretty outdated...

Also, I guess, we need more input to help - again, see the wiki.

I dont see where you changed to opendns, still using google
