Can someone please help me find the shuffle function when watching my downloaded media/videos? It worked fine before and now its completely gone?? Even when I am in the app/website I do not see it in any of my folders?? Pleeease help!!
In which app (platform, version) are you missing it?
Thereās no option do shuffle downloaded media (e.g. downloaded for offline watching on a mobile client). Thereās no shuffle option if youāre listing your videos By Folders (in case thatās what youāre referring) ā you should be perfectly able to shuffle a library in a regular view, though.

Shuffle is also available on the mobile appsā¦
I am using most recent version, I stream my media library to my TV just like I always have for the past 5 yrs, I always leave on shuffle for shows and now there is NO opption to do so
What kind/make of TV is that? The smart tv appās user interface should be fairly similar, but there might be differences.
VIZIO tv, but even going into the website app there is no shuffle option
I cannot comment on the Vizio app, but Iāve moved your thread in the respective categoryā¦ so maybe someone with experience of that app can comment.
As for the web appā¦ where exactly are you looking for the shuffle button? Is it not showing in the Library tab when browsing your library (as in the screenshot above)?

Yes when going into my library playlists it is no longer there anywhere, used to be right up top.. There is not even continous play option no more witch is ridiculous in my opinion
Please help me understand what exactly youāre trying to play/shuffle? You initially talked about a missing shuffle option for the library itself. Now youāre mentioning playlistsā¦ as in shuffling a playlist or all of them?
Thereās no option to shuffle all playlists.
Looking at one of my playlists, the option is right where it should be.

- Which exact version of Plex Web are you using (
Settings>Plex Web>General)? - Are you using the hosted web app or do you access it through your serverās local IP?
- Do you experience the same across different browsers?
- Any browser add-ons / plugins that could be filtering/blocking parts of the pages?
I mention both because there was an option for both at one time, the main point to my post is there is now no shuffle option what so ever, wherever I look.. I would mostly use the shuffle play when watching a tv series under my āother videosā folder and go to the show I want to watch, for example āSouth Parkā then I use shuffle optionā¦But now it is not there.. I stream my saved videos from my desktop, I have done this for 5 or so years now and now it is not an option.
I donāt remember Plex supporting a play or shuffle action for folders.
Raising the questionā¦ why would you organize tv shows in an other-video type library?
I have done it in the OTHER because its from my desktop of files, not plexās available shows, But I have it in with ātv showsā as well, both used to have shuffle.. I play a folder/show while i nap on shuffle.. Or my music videos on shuffle, but now no option, I promise you it did have the option at one time not too long ago!
Thereās a feature suggestion from 2017. not sure if it had been available somewhere since then.
Thanks but I really donāt understand why this is such a big issue?? Cant PLEX just ad it back? There is all kinds of threads online regarding the issue but NO fix, I find this extremely weird and annoying!

Iām not sure if itās a big issue.
Most users go with the regular agents and only use other-video libraries for e.g. home videosā¦ and even with that, folder view isnāt benefiting from most features (e.g. organizing/filtering by metadata instead of monolithic folder structures).
As you can see, thereās been only 11 users supporting that suggestion. That doesnāt mean itās not a valid use case for themā¦ using the regular views and means of organization is just much more convenient and powerful.
For some reason, an effort was made to remove this function. No idea why, the UI space is now just empty. This was my favorite feature
it was there, i have been using it for years. I put music videos in folders and then used to be able to choose a folder/subfolder and shuffle play. it was removed
