Hi Is there any reason why i can’t shuffle play video while under a folder view? I don’t see play button, shuffle or even add to play list bar when in a folder view. Could this be made available?

You would think that this feature would of already of been added years ago but no 4 years ago and I get linked here for a duplicate thread lil bit upsetting huge short coming in plex just getting kinda swept under the rug, I was already on the fence about my subscription but I think this just kinda pushed me over the edge.
+1 for adding a Play All button to the folder view. Seems like an obvious addition to make the folder view work a whole lot better.

we definitely need this basic feature! At the very least, when play a [video] file in a folder then, with auto-play on (windows 11 app) I want the next video in the list to automatically play. If I have many short videos in the folder (say 30 x 2mins) then after each video I need to go find and play the next one (the back button on the Plex UI is missing and so I have to navigate to the top of the folder and navigate down again (luckily I know alt + left arrow can take me back to file list so I do save some time, but not everyone knows how to do that))).
Having ability to shuffle play will be added bonus, but at least start with giving play all functionality and not stopping end of every video!

This was present and working for the longest time and has disappeared again. Has anyone heard anything at all on this item?

Any updates to this at all? Has anyone found a workaround short of creating a playlist or manually merging files?

Your playlist management options are absolutely horrific. I use more than one method to play music, I keep music in Plex and I use Samsung Music on my phone so I can play my music anywhere without needing data. I use Plex to play music on my desktop when I’m not at home but I have my laptop and am working. Even Samsung Music on my phone has an option to just shuffle a folder. I sort my music into folders instead of using playlists because if I adopt a new playback method then I don’t have to hand pick my playlists manually again. The Android app used to have an “add to playlist” option before you guys shook up everything and took music out of the main app, and Plexamp doesn’t have this option. I can’t even do it in Plex on the desktop, it’s like you’re actively keeping me from being able to do this. There’s no option to add a folder to a playlist, there’s no option to select all the files in a folder (but weirdly there’s an option to DEselect all) there’s no option to sort smart playlists by folder location, there’s every other option under the sun but no option for folder location, if I want to remove a song from my playlist that sucks for me too because I can’t sort playlists by name and the tracks seem to be listed randomly, why does this need to be so difficult? My Roku apps used to have a sort folder button. Why can’t we just have that???

This was my favorite feature. I like to use folder view and in a subfolder shuffle play videos.
you can make a genre for every single folder, but that is not a good option and prone to missing files. I really do not know why the effort was made to remove this and leave the space where the shuffle lay was blank???
i would prefer to keep using plex, but i may have to look for an alternative.
The feature was removed for some odd reason???
