Need help moving server

Hello guys,

I started using PLEX by installing it as a plugin on FreeNAS.

It’s been a long while since it isn’t updated via the FreeNAS UI, and for a while there was a script that worked, but it fails now.

Latest version I could upgrade to is: 1.12.2.4929

I’m a PLEX PASS owner.

So here’s what I did.

I created a new FreeBSD jail and installed Plex Media Server (PMS) using:

pkg install plexmediaserver-plexpass

I can now launch a vanilla installation of PMS.

Now how do I import my library from my old PMS to the new PMS?
I’m not talking about the actual files, they are outside of the jail and can easily be shared.
I’m talking mainly about the database, so PMS knows what has been seen, etc.
Ideally I’d like to import the least possible.

I tried these instructions:

https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/

I took everything from my FreeNAS plugin install jail in:

/var/db/plexdata/Plex Media Server/

and copied it to the new installation jail in:

/usr/local/plexdata/Plex Media Server/

It took HOURS, after that I rebooted, and nothing worked.

Nothing in the logs either.

I left it run anyway for a full day, still nothing.

So I trashed the new installation, and just made a new vanilla one, hoping someone can help!

No one

BSD? NOT a lot of experience and PMS on BSD is not popular.

Linux (which is just like BSD’s unix root – I was there back in those dinosaur days) is mainstream.

Plex doesn’t use /usr/local on Linux… No idea what it does on BSD.
I can give you all the help you need for Linux.

Can you get tar ball of ./Library ?
