Need help with network

OK here is what I want to do.

I have a PC with plex server running and I have a roku hooked up to my TV my WiFi router is three floors above me and my signal is very bad. I just got a second WiFi router and I would like to plug this second WiFi router directly to my server and setup a second ssid to stream directly to my roku from the server. Can this be done? My server also has dual Ethernet. If that helps

Does your second router support Access Point+bridge or Wireless Bridge mode?

I think AntiTrust has the fundamental question, but just to be clear, you already have your PMS wired to your main router and you want the new router to be wired to the Roku and act as a Wireless Bridge to the main router, correct?

Or do you want the new router to be fully wireless and just act as a wireless repeater between the Roku and your main router?

I did this with my network, but ended up just replacing the first router with the second. Who wants to connect to the inferior network, when you have access to a better one. Just get rid of it, the bad signal strength if probably due to interference with other wifi networks in your neighborhood anyway.

I've actually done this, and I don't have any issues with a wireless bridge -- just be careful when you try to add any repeaters into a bridge, as physical position can be important.  I've had placements that will cause weird issues with packets being dropped.  Would suggest just sticking with the 2 bridge members only.

You can setup the second Wireless router as an Access point. You need to turn off a lot of things on the second router (DHCP, and the like)

For me I have a very long house and the primary router is located on one end.  So I took an Ethernet line to the other end of the house and simply setup the second router on a different channel but used the same SID

A simply Howto can be found at http://www.tweaktown.com/guides/1575/using_an_old_router_as_a_diy_wireless_access_point/index.html

I have a similar issue. I had my server and a Samsung TV on the same tplink router. I moved the server PC which has no wifi to my living room. I used an old belkin n150 router to create a wireless bridge. Internet on the server PC is fine but now my Samsung TV cannot connect to to the server eve though its listed. I deleted the app and did the link TV which worked fine but still gives me a red x beside the server name on the TV. How can I fix this?

I know you are getting all kind of good suggestions but the lay out of everything is not clear and your solution is dependent on it. For example where is the Server relative to the router & Roku ? is the Server hard wired ?? what are number of other wireless devices ??? whats the make/model of the 2 wireless devices ???

you can run into a variety of different issues depending on what solution you try to implement.
also Wireless Bridge, Access Point and/or Repeater all affect you bandwidth differently… I listed them from lowest to highest. The Access Point is the best if you can run a data line part of the way. The Repeater is easiest to setup but can be affected by interference issues at times. The Bridge cuts your bandwidth in half even before anything connects to it (half up stream half down stream).
