Netgear R9000 latest firmware 1.0.5.18 cannot update Plex server

Server Version#: Netgear
Player Version#: Netgear

The latest firmware for the R9000 router cannot update to the latest version of Plex.

Plex Version Update

Enable Automatic Plex New Version Update
Current Plex version: 1.18.3.2156-349e9837e Jan 14, 2020
New Plex version: 1.19.4.2935-79e214ead Jan 14, 2020

The attempt to update returns an “Unknown Error” message.

It is unclear if the root problem lies with Netgear company or Plex company support.

Any help appreciated.

Having the same issue. I know that the Netgear firmware update handles new versions of plex, and I updated to 1.0.5.18 of the firmware, which had me excited about plex being updated, but apparently Netgear messed it up.

We need to get Netgear and Plex to work better together and keep us up to date more often. Thinking about stop using Netgear and Plex altogether. Ridiculous.

im having same issue. that version of plex did not come out in Jan it came out on June 11, 2020. not sure if that is part of the problem or not

netgear fixed the issue, After I paid for the gearhead support. And log on to the router tonight july 13 2020. and the issue is resolved. got the refund from Netgear support.

My router updated to the latest Plex release as well.

Thanks for turning the thumbscrews on Netgear, Vunyphan. Glad they refunded your support charges.
