Network disconnects when connecting to Plex

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: 4.65.1

I have had a weird issue the last couple of days!
I am running Plex Media Server on a Windows 10 PC.

Whenever I am trying to open Plex from a web browser, the desktop PC internet disconnects for a few seconds. Doesnt matter if I access it through Plex.tv, External IP, 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.XXX.

I can reach Plex from other devices on my network, without issues (on all the above addresses). So this only happens when I am using the Plex Media Server PC (which is my main computer, I use it to watch media content as well).

  • Tried resetting the modem and router.
  • Tried changing the static IP for my PC.
  • Tried different ports.
  • Tried different web browsers.
  • Updated to the newest Plex Media Server version, still the same issue.
  • If i close Plex Media Server before attempting to reach it, this of course does not happen.

The issue started after my internet provider forced a factory reset/update on all modems in the building. I had to put it back in bridge mode again after this.
No issues when connecting to other local services, just Plex.

Anyone experienced anything like this before?

Just started having this issue too. Both ethernet and wifi lose internet until I restart after trying to connect.

Did you find a solution?
