I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m one of 10 people asking for this but a native Plex/Plexamp app for the Apple Watch would be really nice so that we can do more then just pause/play/skip/ with the Apple Watch “Now Playing” and set Plex as the default music player on Apple Watch. Apple HomePod support would also be really nice so we can use Plexamp as the default music player for HomePod. I know Apple doesn’t allow people to change the default app but on iOS as a sort of work around (I would also assume iPadOS and MacOS too) you can Go to settings> (music service/app you want) > Siri & Search/Apple Intelligence> toggle on “Use with Siri Requests”. and then delete the Apple Music/Music app and then Siri will use said Music app to play music when using siri or if you’re manually doing it with the app you’re manually doing it anyways so sort of making it a new “default” music app. I would assume thats how it works on Apple Watch as well just needing that native app. As for the HomePod there is an option in the Home app for “Connected Media” which how thats supposed to work is the music app in this case Plex/Plexamp has to have the option to “connect”/“link” to the Home App and then once added can be used as the music player for Home Devices (AKA HomePods). I’m not the dev so I don’t know how all of it would work but thats some of the info I found on music apps for Apple Devices and think it would be nice to see native Plex/Plexamp apps for not only iOS and iPadOS but also Apple Watch and then support for HomePod. Thx
