I would like to be able to add shows and movies in live tv to a “hidden” type, like the news, sport, etc. In that way shows you have watched or are not interested in can be hidden from browsing. If you want them back browse hidden and deselect.
You can view by category already which does a similar function.
The problem is it needs to override the category. A series may be in a category but as you have watched all that have been made, you want to choose to hide it. Like wise shows being made in a category, which you are not interested in. An a category filter cannot be done to exclude, all shows but crime, and thriller, etc.
I never want to watch certain program my live TV and DVR provides, not do I want to watch a swag of Plex provided content…
GIven I am paying for Plex, I would like to be able to rate a program on my live tv guide, or in the “movies & shows” as a zero and then Plex would never show the particular program to me again.
Add those channels which you do watch to the Favorites.
That is not a solution. I require access to all my free to air channels. I want to block specific programs. Not prevent viewing existing (and new) ones. The same applies to anything that is offered elsewhere by plex that is not hosted by my own server. If the user does not like a tv program or movie, there should a blocking function.
Simply ignore what you don’t want to watch. It is NOT Plex’s job to hide/display content based on anything other than availability and, from time to time, favorite flagging.
Also expecting Plex to implement a feature just for you is a bit pretentious.
Not Plex’s job. That is why I suggest users can define hides and blocks. It’s supposed to be their media or their TV tuner on their hardware.
I do not believe I was attempting to impress by affecting greater importance or merit than is actually possessed. I was asking for a solution to a problem assuming I was not the only paid user with this want or desire.
Yes you can, but it would be better to not have to skip over 100 shows you are not interested in or have watched to find one that you may want to watcg.
