Ability to Hide unwanted live channels

Live TV is great. There are some channels that I will never want to watch. It would be nice to “hide” them so they don’t show.

There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to hide live-tv streaming channels (incl. a workaround using favorites). I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Unless I’ve missed some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

I think it is a different case, I want to hide shows in the live tv “what on” list so you do not see shows you do not want record or have already seen. Tags (in Australia) are generally not of use.

I suppose a channel hidden from the guide will also be hidden on hubs like What’s On.

Not channels, hide shows.

I dont want to hide shows by title. I wish to hide (quite a few) entire Plex Live Channels. Without touching sensitive subjects… I simply don’t speak a foreign language, I have news, political & music preferences, and wish to remove the alternatives to reduce unwieldly size of the program guide.

The workaround of using “Favorites” doesn’t work well as any new channels offered by Plex in the future would be missed using that method and it doesn’t block the ‘suggestions’ and other areas were Plex promotes the ‘unwanted/offending channels and shows’.

There seems to have been a feature identified here: “How to hide and/or rearrange Live TV channels in Plex’s Program Guide | AFTVnews” but no longer works.

Preferably, Also: I’d prefer to not download the show’s metadata for shows on that channel, so as to not offer those programs as suggestions, what new, hubs, etc.

I want to pretend the channels I don’t want… simply do not exist.
