My Roku TVs are suddenly using a whole new interface, and I’m not happy with the results for my usage. I have recorded all Shark Tank episodes and I’ve been binge-watching them from the very first. In the old interface, bringin up Plex immediately gave me the “Continue Watching” list, and I could select Shark Tank and pick up from where I left off. Now, there is no “Continue Watching” at all, and I can only get to where I want by clicking on my photo icon, and navigating through the “Watch History” (or whatever name), selecting the last Shark Tank episode, which brings up another menu where I have to guess which episode I am on, click it, then select my home server, and finally see the progress indicators to know where I left off, then select the right one. A lot of work vs. what I could do before. Can I get the old interface back?
Hi Craig,
I ran into the same thing when the interface appeared. Here’s how I resolved it.
- Arrow right to the settings gear icon and open settings
- Arrow down to Experience
- Arrow right and then down to Default Library View
- Change it from Recommended to Browse. Then hit the back arrow (next to home) twice
- Arrow left to Libraries (you should be back at your home page)
- Arrow down and then right to the three dots … and click OK
- Arrow right on the libraries that you want to include as favorites
After I did this, when I went back to the home page, it reverted back to the familiar “Continue Watching, Recently Added” pages I had selected before the interface. All the “Recommended” stuff was gone.
I hope this works for you also.
Steve
I see this Recommended~
view has been placed as default on the Roku client. This issue has been faced with issuers on other clients, changing a few times between Browse and Recommended
. I hope someone from Plex notice this feedback and leave the Default on Browse
.
Don’t forget to “favorite” all libraries which shall contribute to the home screen – and thus to Continue Watching.
Thank you, Steve. I’ll try this tonight.
See this other thread for instructions on getting “Continue Watching” back on the home screen.
