New iOS Plex Experience - Unable to delete a movie or single episode

Server Version#: 1.41.5.9522
Player Version#: 2025.10.1 (970)

Hi all,

I know I’m probably just missing it, but can someone point me to where I go to delete a movie or a single TV episode from the Plex app on iPhone? I’m running client version 2025.10.1 (970), and I’ve already verified that “Allow Media Deletion” is checked in my settings.

I used to be able to do this before the new experience rolled out, so I’m assuming the option has just moved or changed a bit. Any help would be appreciated—thanks!

Is it just me, or can no one delete anything? Can someone chime in and let me know if they’re able to delete media in the new Plex iOS app?

Why was this tag changed to ios-legacy? The post was created specifically about the new app experience.

Not just you. I’ve also found no way to delete recorded OTA/DVR episodes. Used to be an option right there on every item, but now MIA…

I am having the same issue. Did anyone at Plex software engineering test this before release? Hopefully this will be fixed with the next release. I love Plex. It is my go to for everything.

I’m having this issue also. The only way to delete it now is on server file system manually delete the file(s) and folders. And then trigger rescan library.
Totally stupid by plex to remove this functionality!

I’ve read through the various posts about the new app—what’s included and what’s not—and I haven’t seen anything mentioning that the delete feature is currently unavailable but will be coming soon. That’s why I ended up making this post. Can anyone point me to where this was mentioned?

same here. it’s frustrating

What I find even more bizarre is that none of the posts mention the feature being removed or that it will be added back soon. It’s as if it never existed in the first place.

Yep this feature is missing and it’s much needed

From the related announcement:

Its not you. There is no solution, other than plex server.
The software is trash now. Its like sonos, one big mess!

This doesn’t make sense. First, Plex Dash doesn’t work if you’re not on the same network as your Plex server. Second, even now, I don’t see any option in Plex Dash to delete media. Am I understanding that correctly?

I’m doing some work at home and will only be able to reconnect my server on Monday. Let me check it then. I think I’ve seen the option when enabling it earlier.

Received the iOS update (2025.10.0)while traveling and lost the ability to delete in the app. I found this thread when I returned, so at least now I understand it is not just me.

Feedback: if you are going to release an app to a non-beta group and remove features, you should clearly communicate to customers and provide the option not to update if we care about the missing features.

Tested – Plex Dash works perfectly fine for me while being outside my home network (not sure what that means about your setup not allowing it).
That being said… I also cannot find an option to delete media from a library using Plex Dash. Maybe Plex are referring something they’re having in their pipeline.

You’re absolutely right—it does work even when not on the local network. I could’ve sworn it didn’t when it was first released.
