I just recently installed PLEX onto my home computer and am looking for the library of movies or TV shows/ I first learned about PLEX a few weeks ago while vacationing in Baltimore with my family. My family in Baltimore had PLEX hooked up to their chromcast and had a library of movies that were still in theaters. I am wondering what app i download onto PLEX so i too can have that library. Any info helps.

To be very clear, Plex does not provide content to you. We aren’t like Netflix or Hulu. Instead, you can install the free Plex Media Server (https://plex.tv/downloads) on your computer and set up your own content/media (music, home movies, content you’ve ripped from DVD, etc.). You then use a Plex app to connect with the server and access your content. You can also install “channels” on the server that will let you access streaming content made available from a number of websites.
Also, realize that this section of the Plex forum is for developers (programmers) who want to use the Plex API to write their own Plex channels.
