Hi, just new to plex and wanted to know how to be able to watch the latest movies, tv shows, seen it on someones ipad and they had the new avengers movie, i have signed up per mth but have no idea how to get access to the shows and movies, what do i need to do
You install a Plex server on the computer or other supported device of your choice and set up a library or libraries on it and acquire the movie/TV show(s) you want in a digital format and then place them in the correct structure for Plex and then install the client software on the devices you want to use for watching and then watch your content at your leisure.
Plex does NOT supply content you have to get the content yourself.
Thank you I wasnt aware that I had to get it myself. That sounds so confusing, talk about client software etc, wow more than i thought I will have to look into further, thank you again

Hi there I’m still not sure how I go about getting movies and tv shows. Is there a webpage that you sign up to and download them to the Plex server. Any help would be great thanks
Can you tell me where I get the movies and shows from.
You can buy DVDs from many stores or online at places like Amazon and then rip them using any of the many tools available for that purpose.
There used to be places where you could buy a digital copy of TV shows and movies, usually older ones, but I think those mostly do not exist anymore.
Or you can do as I have done for most of my library and get a large library as part of an estate when a relative passes.
