New Plex Windows App - Scaling issue for 4K Display

Hi there. I just installed the new ‘Plex’ application for Windows running on a 4K windows 10 Dell XPS 15 laptop. The app works great but everything looks incredibly small on my 4K display. I have played around with the Windows 10 scaling settings and got everything looking a normal size but now the artwork and imagery look very soft and low resolution. Is there anyway to get everything looking sharp but scaling properly for a 4K display? I have never had this issue with any of Plex’s apps in the past. Hope someone can help! Thanks

Server Version#: 1.16.4.1469
Player Version#:

Yes, this is a known issue.

Yep - I’ve got the same problem. Any idea on a fix? (thought this would have been tested with the prevalence of 4K monitors today, to be honest!)

Ok great. I was also wondering how updates will work with the new desktop Plex app? Will we have to download new versions from the website or will it be automatic updates through the system/settings? Thanks, hope this gets resolved soon as the new app is awesome other than this issue!

Environment variable worked for me - you need to quit and start again Plex app after environment variable is set.

That worked for me! I do hope there is a fix at the source so we don’t have to do this every time there is a new version of the app but great workaround for the time being. Thank you!

Adjusting environment variable made no difference to me. Using Sony 4K although other apps don’t have this problem plex is unreadably small. I have tried the environment variable with and without spaces between variables and restarted entire computer, no difference made so really hope this get sorted. In my excitement I uninstalled the app store version and don’t want to have two plex apps.

I am confirming that this solution works. I am running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903. I changed my variable to 1.75. I typically have my Windows 10 scaling set to 175%.

Addressed in v1.1.

Having this problem again, on current version. New twist though, Windows isn’t letting me at the environment settings

Scratch the above, restart has brought it back. Whatever happened to cause this, nothing else was effected

Still happening, will try to environment “fix”, you’d think it would be fixed by now.
