new PMP 2.1 missing letters

hi

I don’t know if its only me or its with everyone. I cant seems to find the letter ( N ), ( O ) and ( Q ) in the movies and tv show menu ! can anyone confirm ?

Letters will only appear if you have movies that start with that letter.

As you can see, I am missing B, D, E, F, G, etc., because I don’t have movies beginning with those letters. This is true in all Plex apps, I believe.

This might also be simply because of space constraints.

i checked again and i confirm i have Queen of South tv show start with letter Q and Q is not appearing on the right side panel look at the photo

The same thing happens in Movies and Music. In Movies I’m missing the letters E, G, K, Q, U and Y even though I have movies that begin with those letters. In Music I’m missing H, N and Q even though I have artist names starting with those letters.

so plex moderator are watching this post ? or we have to report it somewhere else ?

There is simply not enough room to display the full alphabet.

I think Otto is right, it appears to truncate the list of letters to 19. If it was all 26 letters it would run off the screen.

Maybe instead of a list it would be nice if it was a range i.e. a-d, e-i, j-m, n-q, r-u, v-z

Seriously?? That’s incredibly poor design.

Do you officially know this to be true? If so, that’s the silliest thing I’ve heard all week. I simply can’t believe that.

Come on now. If there’s enough room to display every letter of the alphabet in the jump letters when you’re searching by Actor or Director, then obviously there’s enough room to display every letter of the alphabet for titles too. It might need to be a slightly smaller font like those jump letters but not enough that anyone would notice.

I have ~2500 movies in my library and missing the letters U and V, I don’t want to jump to W and scroll upwards (or worse, jump to T and have to scroll through all those titles) to find Unforgiven or Vertigo.

Came to post about this. Noticed “O” was missing in Music (even though I have numerous “O” artists), and then noticed Q, U, V, W, X, Y are also missing.

There appears to be plenty of UI space to add at least some of these letters back in on top and bottom – just like in @mishoplex photo. It also appears there are other UI solutions that could allow more to fit (e.g., letters could be slightly offset side-to-side).

Same here, lots of letter missing in the list, terrible.

I have some libraries that are missing ALL the letters. I found that if I deleted then rebuilt the library, the letters magically reappeared. My guess is that if some videos are added after the initial index is built, then there is a glitch that does not allow them to be recognized. Starting afresh with all titles in your library should create a new index that includes everything.

I have my libraries set up by genre, so they are easier to re-index. This might not be the best solution for those who maintain a single library of all titles.

Exactly the same here. I see all of the letters in Plex Server but letters are missing (J & K in my case) from the client on both of my TVs (one Samsung and the other LG). I did manage (once) to get the missing letters to appear (after watching some TV then going back to Plex). However, the letters disappeared again when I went to home and then back into films.

It certainly seems to be a bug in the client and not a design ‘feature’ (which if it was would have been a terrible one).

Any word from Plex on this? Has anyone talked to anyone?

I’m noticing the exact same issue. I have plenty of media that should fall in certain letters that aren’t showing up.

Pick the letter closest to the target letter. Then scroll the posters up or down.

That is a rather ignorant reply. Of course you can select the letter near the target letter then navigate from there, but that’s not the point is it? If you have a large collection of media then that can still be very cumbersome/inconvenient. The fact of the matter is, it is a bug, it shouldn’t have missing ‘random’ letters from the index.
