This is a great idea. In addition if we had local fanart then it would use that for all seasons without having to go and create one for every season.

If there is a Series Background and no Season Background - the Series background is already usedā€¦ which is fine.

The problem is when a SINGLE Season Background that is NO GOOD is AUTO SELECTED there is no way to DE-SELECT IT - other than REPLACING ITā€¦ that is NOT FINE!

I DO NOT Need Crappy-Auto-Selected Season Backgrounds from Plex. Period.

The problem really is:
Plex DOES NOT know what I want, but they insist on beating me over the head with it, ultimately creating more work for ME when I have to FIX IT!

An option to NOT download and apply season artwork makes a lot of sense to me. In fact, it should be that the option is to ENABLE that (OFF by default) I donā€™t need extra image files Iā€™m not going to use or care about added into the plex folder. Thereā€™s only a couple of TV shows that season backgrounds might be important to me (Fargo, American Horror Story) and I can edit those seasons manually to add images if I want to.

Truth is, for me at least, Iā€™m rarely on the ā€œpre-playā€ screens long enough to even notice what the background art is, and in most cases, itā€™s play from On Deck or Recently Added and the background is never seen anyway.

Agreed, 100%. For me 95% of the time Iā€™ll want whatever show level fanart to be carried across to each season on that show. If that comes as a feature update in the agent/scanner great, if not then at least I know I can workaround by creating seasonxx-fanart.jpg for each season.

Yes, exactly.

I do make a Series Background that suits me.
I like things to look nice - I get compliments - and cake - I donā€™t want either to stop and I donā€™t want to have to work harder to get them.

Iā€™m old and retiredā€¦ and Plex is making me grumpyā€¦
The first two things donā€™t automatically create the third thingā€¦
Thatā€™s ALL Plex.
