New UI on Roku, etc

I’m not sure where to post this (welcome feedback)…I’ve been using Plex for 9 years and I’ve seen many UI changes, mostly for the better. But I have found the latest versions for Roku (and I assume other streaming devices), with the dropdown menus for libraries and for how to view (browse, etc.) to be extremely difficult, especially for new users. The modal process of selecting a library and then remembering to move to the right to select “browse” (which is normally how I want to view the library) is counterintuitive (IMHO) and very painful to explain to someone like my 92 year old mother, who just wants to watch the family videos I’ve put out there for her and other family members. I know that streaming services like Netflix and Prime don’t make browsing that easy and like to rely on recommendations, but Plex is so much more than that. It’s a way to reach families all over the country and share memories. Wish you made browsing easier for personal libraries. For the live and ad-streaming services, I don’t really care, but I can get those from anyone…Plex has been a wonderful service for me and my family over the years. Thanks for that. I know it doesn’t generate more revenue the way the ad-services do, but it would be great if it continued to support both needs.

Thanks (hopefully) for listening.

That’s not necessary. In your Roku Plex app, head to settings and then Experience. You can set the default view to “Browse.” That way, you don’t have to move right to select Browse, you can just click OK on the library name and it will take you straight there.

If you were already aware of that, please ignore this; just wanted to ensure you knew.

Sorry, I replied to the wrong comment initially.

They’re not listening. They replaced “remember tab” with the option to have all show the same view, so you can select “browse” instead of “recommended” but you can’t do it on a per library basis any more, sadly.

Hopefully this helps your mother, it doesn’t really help when you have multiple libraries/servers though. Less functional, more effort.
