Newbie: Trailers not available screen

Hi Everybody,

I got the applet TV 3 for x-mass, and as I already have a Smart TV I would like to install this in my kitchen and streeam some movies or stuff like that.

So seeing the Small amount of links the apple TV has (less than my Smart TV) I thought about installing PLEX.

I followed the instructions of https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/Install-Guide-Windows

I downloaded the Plex-connect-master and also the plex connect program

I certifite some files using:

1) C:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin\openssl.exe req -new -nodes -newkey rsa:2048 -out C: railers.pem -keyout C: railers.key -x509 -days 7300 -subj "/C=US/CN=trailers.apple.com" -config C:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin\openssl.cfg

and then

2) C:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin\openssl.exe x509 -in C: railers.pem -outform der -out C: railers.cer

and then

3) type C: railers.key >> C: railers.pem

When I execute step 1 or 2 I get a warning that it can not open /usr/local/openssl/openssl.cnf

Still I can do step 3.

then when I execute the python program it runs fine (I believe)

But when I go to the apple TV and trailers I see "Trailers not available" message.

Any help is welcome.

Your certs are probably not generated correctly (you mentioned you got a couple of errors).

Delete the profile from the ATV (you cannot just overwrite it).

Ensure you installed the correct version of OpenSSL (the Win32 Light version as mentioned on the wiki) and then try again to generate and install the certs.

The errors/Warnings I get is also because those directories do not exist.

Now after googling I read that when you use the OpenSSL "light" version it isn´t needed (http://www.tbs-certificates.com/FAQ/en/openssl-windows.html) Ofcourse who am I as a newbie to know if that is so or not.

I read there that using the command "set OPENSSL_CONF=c:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin\openssl.cnf" would be Ok to use, but that only redirects them to that directory, which doesn´t exist neither.

So those warning are there. But I still get the certifite files which then I copy into the correct directory (Assets/certificates/)

Deleting the profile on the ATV, how do I do that? Is that resetting it?

I have the light version from http://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html the first file that comes on screen.

What I did found strange is that during the installation of it it mentioned somethings about the Visual C++ library, but it let me continue. Should I install that also?

Hi,

I have installed the Visual C++ and then again the openSSL

when I execute the same command I get the same warnings.

Now on my Apple TV I deleted my account from it.

I then changed the DNS again to 192.168.1.1 (my router) and back to my pc 192.168.1.134

I ran Python again and then Trailers.

This time it seemd to be thinking. But when I went to my Pc I saw the next in the cmd WINDOW:

As it di´d´t do a thing I exited the AppleTV

Any suggestions?

Hi,

after messing around with it I finally got it working.

After adding a new profile, and starting the Plex Media correctly I made connecting between the applet TV and the PC.

So now I can see AVI files without any problems.

Until there is a Jailbreak I guess I will be sticking to this.
