Is this fix going to be an update to the framework to allow for path information in the search() function, or is going to be an enabling of the "Fix incorrect info" button, or possibly both?
Could somebody be so kind to tell me how I would setup my .nfo to work with this?
I’ve got a few shows and movies which dont get any posters or data (they are named correct)

Check out elan’s blog everyone. You now have your old v8.5 names. Make sure xbmcnfo is at the top of your info provider list. Right click and refresh the movies you want renamed to your nfo’s.
what does your nfo look like now?
Remember…If you don’t have an nfo for a new movie, that you can always create your own nfo and get custom names of new movies. Use this format:
<br />
<movie><br />
<title>Insert Custom Name Here</title><br />
</movie><br />
<br />
Make sure to use the exact same name as your movie file and use the .nfo file extension. Cheap fix until Edit Info button works, but it is something.
Hi Harley : Thanks alot that worked perfect..
I still can’t get this to pick up any .nfos and I don’t know why.
Here’s what I did:
- Click “Download Source” from Git (http://github.com/HooliganHarls/XBMCnfo.bundle)
- Open the downloaded zip
- Rename resulting folder from HooliganHarls-XBMCnfo.bundle-5565920 to XBMCnfo.bundle
- OK the warning about changing the file extension
- Move to L/AS/PMS/Plugins
- Restart PMS
Here’s my Info Provider Settings:

Yet it doesn't seem to picking up any of the info in the .nfos. These are nfos that I also used in 0.8x, so I'm pretty sure they're formatted correctly.
Can anyone see from the above where I've gone wrong? The bit that seems a bit odd to me is getting a folder from the zip and renaming it - that doesn't feel like the correct way to get the bundle to me, have I got that right?
Silly question for Harley, is this agent a primary agent? If so, then it could work for people who have custom media which is never going to match any other primary agent.
Not so silly question as I tried that from time to time. I'll make separate one for being an info provider. I prefer the scanner better because it fills out the rest of the data that old plex didn't get.
Also, here's something I have not tested yet. I'm just waking up. If I switch back to using plex movie scanner agent, will it overwrite my new name?
Sorry, I wasn't talking about scanner vs agent, I was talking about primary agent vs secondary agent.
A primary agent manages its own GUIDs, and in this case could be useful if a person has lots of media with NFO files which aren't going to "match" through any other primary agent.
I was just testing the agent in a de novo install of Plex/Nine with the new PMS hot fix.
Placing the code downloaded from github in the plugins folder, did not work. In the PMS Logs a critical error is logged - something about an “unexpected unindent” in line 115 of the code? :o
Ya it is not working here either, it looks like the conditional statement -- 'if nfoTextLower.count('') > 0 and nfoTextLower.count('') > 0: ' that feeds everything into reading the xml is coming back as false.
Chris
give me a couple and I’ll push the fix. I saw that this morning. I think it’ll work as a plexapp too. I’ll try to post that here
git updated and here is a plexapp for it. Just download and double click.
This Agent Works beautiful. Thank you!!!
I’ve found only 1 problem. I got for example the 4 Alien movies, the agent pick ups the covers & the plot correctly from the nfo but sets the title “Alien” for all the 4 movies
Thank You Again!
Hi Harley
Works fine for Movie, thanks again for that... However is there any plan to make this happens for TV Shows too?
Thanks again for all your contribution
Could anyone tell me how you know if this has installed correctly, as I can’t get the bundle or the app to work. My Info Provider settings look like this - is that right?

I had the same problem with lotr. Can you check your nfo's? If the is correct, zip up your nfo and upload it here.
Go to your finder-->utilities-->console. On the left side scroll down to pms plugins/com.plexapp.agent.xbmcnfo.log. S ee if there is an error here.
In the works for sometime this week.
