If there is a setting for this, please let me know. However I can’t seem to find any information if there is.
I have some issues with getting DTS /AC3 to be correctly played from a remote location. If Direct Play is selected, the correct audio channels are selected. I get 5.1 However, a lot of times there just is not enough available bandwidth to play certain content remotely, and the media is transcoded. When it is transcoded, I lose 5.1 audio and whatever I am streaming is played in stereo.
Is this working as intended? Personally I would rather have the 5.1 audio streamed and lose some picture quality. Or at least given that choice. Even at 2 or 4Mbps picture quality is often “good enough”, but losing discrete 6 channel audio is a deal breaker. Is this something I have configured incorrectly on the plex media server? Thanks for any information.
