No Audio on Raspberry Pi 2 over HDMI

Greetings,

I’ve been trying different settings for a couple hours now, and can’t get audio passed from my Raspberry Pi 2 running PMP 1.1.4. Some background.

-I have a Vizio XVT473SV. I’ve tried multiple HDMI cables on multiple inputs. HDMI audio passed from different sources can be heard w/ same cables on same ports.
-I did a clean install of PMP 1.1.3, then updated to 1.1.4. Never tried for audio w/ 1.1.3, as update was available upon first booting PMP (downloaded and wrote 1.1.3 to the SD card a couple days ago). I have never had audio come from PMP on the Raspberry Pi.
-I have tried both locally stored content and steamed content.
-Under Audio, I have device type set to HDMI, but have also tried Basic
-Under Channels, I have Stereo set, but have also tried 5.1 and auto.
-Under Device, I have Autoselect set, but have also tried bcm2835 ALSA… and Default(oss)
-I have toggled and tried Normalize Downmixed…
-I have no passthrough enabled.
-I have tried setting the video to different max bitrates.
-I have tried changing the Sync Mode.
-I have toggled Direct Play and Direct Stream.
-Volume level on TV has been tried at varying levels.
-Have tried plugging in speakers to TV’s optical output. Nothing heard.

I’m at a bit of a loss for what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Make a clean install again of v1.1.4

Clean install completed, various configuration tried; still no audio.
Other possible approaches?

Also, verified again port and cable combo functional. Unplugged from Pi into Macbook Pro, audio was heard.

I guess we need a player log.

another method to get the log file is to call up the SMB share of the RasPi
smb://ip-of-raspberry-pi/Logfiles

The SMB access is a significant time saver; thank you! Would highly support that being added to the support article about accessing PMP logs.

Logs attached.

Hm, on the logs, everything looks fine (except the parts where OSS was selected).

It must be something related to HDMI or maybe volume control.

Drat, that’s what I was hoping not to hear. Yeah, OSS was just to try, but as you can see, attempted mostly with other settings selected.

Since I’ve confirmed w/ multiple other sources that the cable/port combo can carry audio, I’m not quite sure where to go from here.

I appreciate all the assistance, and will continue watching the PMP versions progress, but shall look to other hardware solutions for now.

There is a second software option for the RasPi https://forums.plex.tv/categories/rasplex

amixer cset numid=3 2 is what fixed it for me
